The 2010 Grand Bend Motorplex schedule is one of the most diverse/action packed schedules we have had in the last few years. While not as many weekends as previous years, every weekend we are open is full of action/excitement. We kick off the season May 14th-16th with our opening Thunder and Junior series races and they will be joined by the Ontario Nostalgia Drag Racing Association in their series opener. The RUDY HELD’S PERFORMANCE CENTRE SPRING BLOWOUT  will finally fall on the correct weekend in May , 21st-23rd and with better weather, great racing, show cars, and a great Sunday night concert it will be a happening event.

The  June 11-13th weekend will start off a six week run as we see the return of S.W. Ontario’s largest big $$ bracket racing program - the BENSON AUTO PARTS “ SHOW ME THE MONEY” TOUR event, including GBM Thunder & Junior series races, a TD/TS race, plus great Can Am S/SS action. The next weekend is our 2nd annual “All Bike Drags Weekend” with Saturday featuring the HULLY GULLY SUMMER SIZZLER/CDN FASTEST STREET BIKE SHOOTOUT, with classes for the casual racer right up to the 200MPH Street Bike Shootout competitors. Then Sunday it’s the annual ROCKYS FATHER’S DAY “HARLEYS BY THE BEACH” EVENT featuring Ontario’s only Nitro Harley race, plus Harley and all makes classes.  Then June 25-27th an old favourite returns as we once again feature the RPM MAGAZINE MEDIA/FAMILY WKD EVENT. The weekend features our first Pro Mod & Napa Quick 32 races of the season, plus all the GBM classes, a great midway, plus lots of other attractions yet to be announced. The concept is a “Celebration of Drag Racing” weekend.

We go back in time July 9th-11th as the Ontario Nostalgia Drag Racers Association presents ONDR NOSTALGIA DAYS, their biggest event of the season. This event grows every year with over 100 race cars from 1974 and older ripping up the ¼ mile, some of whom only make it out to this event each year. There is also an awesome car show and this year the weekend will feature the largest “Nostalgia Hemi Super Stock” race in the country. The following weekend is the Big One – the 11th annual IHRA/MOPAR NITROJAM NATIONALS July 16-18th, the weekend will feature over 20 Nitro Burners running both Sat & Sun (Top Fuel, Pro Fuel, Nostalgia Nitro Funny cars & Nitro Harleys) plus for the first time ever - Side by Side Jet Trucks. In addition to these we have PMRA Pro Mods, Top Sportsman/Top Dragster s (plus New Elite 8 program), the Rod and Bracket classes, plus additional show vehicles and our Saturday Night of Nitro Fireworks. This is the biggest race in Eastern Canada!

The NAPA AUTO PARTS STRATFORD SPECTACULAR returns Aug 6th-8th with the same exciting format as last year, featuring PMRA Pro Mods, the NAPA Q32 TD/TS series, GBM Thunder and Junior classes, plus other show vehicles yet to be announced. We expect it to be bigger and better than ever. September opens with the TEAMSTERS “THUNDER BY THE BEACH” EVENT on Labour Day weekend Sept 3-5th and is always a great show and our second biggest event of the year, featuring Nitro cars, Pro Mods, a Jet Semi Truck, Wheelstander, NAPA Q32, GBM classes and Sat night Fireworks. The next weekend is Windsor Weekend, one of the largest community sponsored events in the country, featuring over 3oo cars from the Windsor/Essex community and thousands of fans. It is a truly unique and fun event. We end the 2010 season Sept 24th-26th with our FALLFAST/OCTOBERFAST BIG $$ race weekend, including our Sat night Racer Appreciation barbecue to celebrate another great season.
